Volunteer Opportunities

There's a world of opportunities for you to use your special skills to help homeless animals in our community.
While we always need volunteers to help care for our dogs, cats, and bunnies,
we also need people to answer phones at the adoption desk, assist with dog walking and cat/dog socialization,
monitor and greet guests, counsel potential adopters, and help with special events and creative projects
like our float for the Prince Albert Exhibition Parade, the annual Garage Sale and Walk for Paws in the park.

If you love animals, are at least 12 years old and can give us whatever time you can spare,
we can promise you good feelings and fun.

Dog Socialization and Training

Types of Volunteer Opportunities
there are two primary types of volunteer work with the PA SPCA:
In-shelter and Out-of-shelter.

Join the growing circle of volunteers who work to improve the lives of unfortunate shelter animals!

As a volunteer at the SPCA, you're committed to us! Volunteers can help the Animal Care Center run smoothly,
increase adoptions by being knowledgeable and friendly, and make our animals more comfortable and happier.
Volunteering is important for the organization and the individual. We want to make the volunteer experience as useful as possible.
Please review the following information about our Animal Care Center and our volunteer program.

Cat socialization

If you are unable to adopt, you can help in other ways - you can volunteer your time with grooming or walking,
or we accept good quality dog food, cat food, chew toys (the bigger the better! Our kennel doors let small toys escape!),
dog cookies, non clumping kitty litter etc...

If you would be interested in fostering a dog, please contact us.

If you can find it in your heart to help please contact us for more information.
If you have an hour a day, a week or a month to spare, we need and appreciate your help!
